KESKO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 17.01.2011 AT 09.00 1(2)
The Kesko Group's sales in December 2010, excluding VAT, totalled ?832.1
million, an increase of 7.9%.
In the food trade, sales in December were ?384.4 million, an increase of 8.4%.
Sales to the K-food store chains were up by 9.9%.
In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in December were ?222.1 million, a
decrease of 0.4%.
In the building and home improvement trade, sales in December were ?181.9
million, an increase of 18.1%. Sales in Finland were up by 22.5%. Sales abroad
increased by 14.5% in terms of euros and by 8.4% in terms of local currencies.
In the Baltic countries, sales were up by 10.2%. In Russia, sales increased by
28.7% in terms of euros and by 19.4% in terms of the local currency.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in December were ?59.1 million, a
comparable increase of 24.0%. VV-Auto's sales in December were ?41.1 million, up
19.9%. Konekesko's sales in December were ?17.8 million, down 14.5%. Konekesko's
sales in December were ?17.8 million, a decrease of 14.5%. Konekesko's
comparable sales performance was 35.0%. In the car and machinery trade,
comparable sales performance in January-December was 14.9%. The impact of the
car tax change (as from 1 April 2009), and the discontinued Baltic grain and
agricultural inputs trade have been eliminated from the comparable sales.

Change, % indicates the change over the corresponding period of the previous
year.
In December 2010, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was
21, which was the same as in December 2009. The total number of wholesale
selling days in January-December was one more than in the previous year. The
number of retail selling days in December was 28, which was one more than in the
previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-December was
25 more than in the previous year.
The sales from operations in Finland presented in this release include the
export sales of the companies in Finland (previously exports were included in
the sales of other countries). The comparative figures have been restated to
reflect the change in presentation.
Kesko publishes advance information on the K-Group's retail sales quarterly, in
connection with the interim reports.
