Beter Bed: Record profits for full year 2010

Beter Bed Holding N.V. is today announcing the preliminary figures for the
fourth quarter of 2010 and the full year 2010. In the fourth quarter of 2010,
Beter Bed Holding realised revenue of ? 102.6 million (fourth quarter 2009: ?
101.9 million). It consequently achieved net revenue for the full year 2010 of ?
374.7 million. This equals a 3.7% increase in comparison to the revenue realised
in 2009 (? 361.5 million).
The change in revenue per country for the full year 2010 compared to 2009 is as
follows:
Germany 0%
Netherlands +7%
Spain -2%
Switzerland +25%
Austria +8%
Belgium +10%
Poland +48%
Uncertain consumers, winter weather conditions in the last month of the year and
a strong 2009 fourth quarter as the comparative basis resulted in a 4.5%
decrease in revenue at comparable stores in the fourth quarter of 2010. Revenue
at comparable stores declined by 1.3% for the full year.
A total of 112 stores were opened and 59 stores closed in 2010. The total number
of stores consequently grew by 53 from 1,064 to 1,117. A net total of 23 stores
were added in the fourth quarter of 2010 (37 openings and 14 closures). The
company intends to maintain this pace of store openings in 2011.
Net profit in 2010 is expected to increase by a minimum of 16% to at least ?
27.7 million (2009: ? 23.9 million). This is the highest level of net profit
ever achieved in the history of Beter Bed Holding N.V. The previously announced
forecast was that net profit for the full year 2010 would rise by approximately
10% in comparison to the full year 2009.
The final figures for 2010 will be published on 10 March 2011. The results
stated in this press release have not been audited.

Beter Bed operates in the European bedroom furnishings market. Its activities
include retail trade through a total of 1,117 stores at the end of September
2010 that operate via the chains Beter Bed (active in the Netherlands),
Matratzen Concord (active in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland,
Belgium and Poland), El Gigante del Colchón (active in Spain), BeddenREUS,
Dormaël and Slaapgenoten (all three active in the Netherlands) and MAV (active
in Germany). Beter Bed Holding is also active in the field of developing and
wholesaling branded products in the bedroom furnishings sector in the
Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Spain via its subsidiary DBC International.
Beter Bed Holding achieved net revenue of ? 374.7 million in 2010. The company
has been listed on Euronext Amsterdam since December 1996. The Beter Bed Holding
share is included in the Amsterdam Small Cap Index.
