Neste Oil ranked the world's 20th most sustainable company
Neste Oil has been selected for inclusion in the Global 100 list of the world's
most sustainable companies for the fifth year in succession. The company is now
ranked 20th, compared to 85th in 2010. The list is based on an analysis of
3,000 listed companies in different sectors from 22 countries. The Global 100
list is coordinated by Corporate Knights - working together with Inflection
Point Capital Management, Legg Mason's Global Currents Investment Management,
and Phoenix Global Advisors LLC - and is published annually at the World
Economic Forum in Davos.
Companies selected for inclusion in the Global 100 list are considered the most
capable in their sectors in managing environmental, social, and governance
issues and in their ability to make use of new business opportunities in these
areas. In addition to Neste Oil, three other companies from Finland are included
in the list: Nokia, Kesko, and Stora Enso.
Neste Oil has been a pioneering producer of cleaner traffic fuels for decades
and has led the way in introducing sulfur-free, unleaded, and renewable fuels
and been at the forefront of developments in the quality and environmental areas
in the oil industry.
