ALMA MEDIA STARTS PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS IN SATAKUNTA REGION TO RATIONALISE ITS
OPERATIONS
Alma Media's two publishing companies operating in Satakunta region, Satakunnan
Kirjateollisuus Oy and Porin Sanomat Oy, will start statutory personnel
negotiations affecting all employees of the two companies. According to the
tentative view of the companies, the total number of employees may be reduced by
20 man-years at the maximum due to the planned actions. Currently, the companies
employ approximately 130 persons.
The target of the reorganisation and rationalisation is to increase the
competitiveness of Satakunnan Kansa and Porin Sanomat newspapers in the
turbulence of the media industry and to ensure the vitality of the papers also
in the future.
The negotiations concern all employees of Satakunnan Kirjateollisuus Oy and
Porin Sanomat Oy. The planned reorganisation would probably lead to decreased
workload particularly in advertising handling and traffic, customer service,
editorial staff and marketing functions.
The potential impacts on employees, and how the impacts would be allocated to
personnel groups, will be defined during the negotiations.
