Elcoteq Streamlines Organization and Begins Personnel Negotiations in

Communications Networkscontinues as an independent SBU, now named as System Solutions. Twonew members have been appointed to the Management Team; Mr. SándorHajnal being responsible for Human Resources and Mr. Tomi Saariobeing responsible for New Sales and Business Development. Thepersonnel reductions related to the organizational changes areaffecting globally approximately 150 persons. The personnelnegotiations in Finland have started today.Since the beginning of 2008, Elcoteq has had three Business Areas:Personal Communications, Home Communications and CommunicationsNetworks. They have been reported as separate segments. PersonalCommunications and Home Communications Business Areas will now becombined, and in the future the company shall only have two StrategicBusiness Units (SBU): Consumer Electronics and System Solutions. BothSBUs are responsible for managing and developing their existingcustomer relationships and applicable service offerings, while GroupOperations and Sourcing is responsible for supply chain andproduction. Consumer Electronics represents approximately 75% of thecompany's net sales and System Solutions represents approximately25%.Consumer Electronics will cover products such as mobile and wirelessphones, their parts and accessories, set-top boxes, flat panel TVsand other consumer products. System Solutions will cover wireless andwireline infrastructure systems and modules, enterprise networkproducts and various other industrial segment products.By combining the Home Communications and Personal Communicationssegments under the Consumer Electronics SBU, the Company can betterutilize the synergies between these businesses. Company aims also atfurther cost reductions by streamlining and simplifying theorganization by removing organizational layers and overlapping roles.More emphasis is also put on new sales activities which are now undera separate global function, New Sales and Business Development. Itfocuses on identifying new business opportunities, acquiring newcustomers and exploring new product segments for the company.Two new members have been invited to Elcoteq's Management Team fromwithin Elcoteq.
