Istanbul, Turkey - 22nd February 2011 - Avnet Technology Solutions, a
solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc.(NYSE: AVT)
announced today that Hakki Eren has been appointed as the General Manager for
Avnet Technology Solutions Turkey, a joint venture between SANKO and Avnet.
Dieter Lott, Vice President Business Development EMEA, Avnet Technology
Solutions and a board member of the joint venture, declared that Mr Eren will
start on 21st February and said, "We are very pleased that he's joining Avnet
Turkey as we believe that with his network and experience of the IT sector, he
will lead and develop the value add services from Avnet to the next level of
solutions distribution."
The interim General Manager Dennis Evers says, "With Hakki Eren on board, I am
confident we will achieve Avnet's growth strategy in Turkey." He added, "I will
hand over my responsibilities to Mr. Eren and will ensure a successful
transition."
His achievements of continuous growth in the IT arena of Turkey, where he
started in a medium size company and reached Turkey's Fortune 500, puts him in a
comfortable position to achieve Avnet's growth strategies in Turkey.
Avnet Technology Solutions has a commitment to be one of the major contributors
to the IT industry in Turkey and Mr Eren is keen to be a part of the Avnet team
in making this happen.
Mr Eren graduated in computer sciences from the University of Sussex, England.
He worked in the financial industry as Chief Information Officer where he set up
the data processing centres from blueprint to full scale production systems
taking an active role in all areas of implementation.
During his time in the financial sector he led the banks' multi million dollar
hardware and telecommunications investments and led the acquisition and
implementation of in-house software developments and packaged software.
Mr Eren then joined Servus Bilgisayar A.S, one of Turkey's largest systems
integrators. As Chief Executive Officer of Servus, he led the company from $30m
and 300 personnel to $120m and 800 personnel, placing Servus in Turkey's Fortune
500 for the last three consecutive years.
He was instrumental in more than doubling the company's value added services
when Servus became the number one in the market. His computer based background
helped the company forge strong relationships with computer manufacturers,
contributing to Servus' success in the private and public sectors.
Hakki Eren specialises in sales and marketing and joins Avnet with a long list
of loyal and happy customer references.
