IMO`s brand new pitch bearing?T-Solid 4IPC? among the Top 5 innovations by ?Windpower Monthly?
(PresseBox) - The leading wind energy magazine Windpower Monthly rated the ?brightest ideas of 2016 at the cutting edge of wind energy design and development? ? and IMO`s next level pitch bearing is among the five top innovations awarded by the magazine in its January 2017 issue.
T-Solid 4IPC is an innovative pitch bearing especially designed for the latest 3 to 4MW low-wind onshore turbines as well as 6 to 8MW class offshore turbines, increasingly incorporating individual pitch control (IPC) for intelligent structural load reduction. IMO presented the 3-row cylindrical roller bearing first time in September 2016 at WindEnergy in Hamburg and proudly informed that this pitch bearing design was selected by Senvion for its new 3.4M140 EBC turbine.
The windpower magazine wpm distinguishes IMO`s 3-row-roller bearing in its rating as ?characteristic enabler for the next turbine scaling and optimizing steps, including for enhanced 25-30 year operating life?.

The IMO Group was founded 1988 and has more than 25 years experience in designing, manufacturing and supplying Slewing Rings and self-contained Slew Drives. The company is headquartered near Nuremberg in Gremsdorf, Germany. IMO has partners worldwide, a subsidiary in North Charleston, US and a representative office in Beijing. Currently worldwide more than 500 employees work for IMO.
IMO ball- and roller Slewing Rings are designed, manufactured and distributed worldwide in diameters ranging from 100 mm to 6,000 mm in a wide variety. They are used for various applications, including construction machinery, tunnelling & mining, ship building, conveyor & transportation systems and medical technology. Additionally, IMO is a leading supplier of blade, yaw and main bearings for on- and offshore wind turbines, and even provides blade bearings for a tidal stream system.
IMO Slew Drives consist of a ball or roller Slewing Ring, a drive train, and a completely enclosed and sealed housing. They are used for steering equipment such as gantry cranes and heavy-duty transporters, manlift platforms, turntables, agriculture & forestry and many more.
