Wentworth Resources Limited ("Wentworth" or the "Company"), an independent East
Africa focused oil and gas company, announces that Mr. Richard (Rick) Schmitt
has been appointed as a non-executive Director of the company and that Mr.
Michael Jansa has offered his resignation as a Director of the Company.
Mr. Schmitt was previously Chief Executive Officer of Afren EAX, the East
African subsidiary of Afren plc. Prior to the acquisition of Black Marlin Energy
Limited ("BMEL") by Afren, Mr. Schmitt was President & CEO and Director of BMEL
where he led the company's IPO and subsequent listing on the Toronto Stock
Exchange. Mr. Schmitt is a past president of Africa Oil Corp. (TSXV:AOI), and
former President and General Manager of Occidental Petroleum (Yemen). Mr.
Schmitt also holds Directorship in Tyner Resources Limited (TSVX:TIP), Newton
Energy Limited (TSXV:NJN) and Canadian Overseas Petroleum (TSXV:XOP).
