(PresseBox) - Weidmüller u-remote: new strain gauge module for the precise measurement of weight, torque and oscillation. ? High-precision analysis of load cells with calibration function. ? Parallel measurement data analysis for up to four load cells on one channel.
Measuring bridges in the form of strain gauges are used to measure weight, torque or oscillation. Strain gauges are used when quick or precise measurements are required, such as for determining billing data. Weidmüller is expanding u-remote, its innovative remote I/O system in IP 20, with a new strain gauge module which has two 24-bit resolution channels to offer precision of up to 0.01 percent (± 0.01 % FSR). Calibration and gauging enable industrial applications. A tare function can be triggered for each individual channel, which means measurements can be reset at the touch of a button directly on the module or via software. This increases flexibility for the user.
The new strain gauge module allows processes to be optimised and the reduction of costs. An independent body can then carry out the calibration conveniently via the u-remote web server. Sensor adjustment and the calibration of the strain gauge module are carried out independently via the built-in web server or via the hardware configuration tool in the control software. The password-protected, user-friendly calibration via the web server also has a documentation function to back up the settings.
The high-performance module is housed in a compact enclosure. The width of just 11.5 mm saves space and money, as does the state-of-the-art analogue technology with 0.01 percent input precision and 24-bit resolution.
Individual parameterisation allows resistance bridges with 4 or 6 conductor connection systems. Additionally, up to four 350-ohm sensors can be connected in parallel. The u-remote strain gauge module therefore allows parallel measurement data analysis for up to four load cells on one channel. Individual channel diagnosis and wire break detection is possible for each module and for each of the two channels. The u-remote system bus with a transfer rate of 48 Mbit serves as an interface. The system bus also provides the module with 24 V DC voltage (+20 % or -15 %).
All u-remote strain gauge modules (2AI-SG-24-DIAG) comply with product standards IEC 61131-2 and IEC61010-2-201 and EMC EN 61000. ATEX (EN 60079), UL (UL 61010-2-201) and MSIP (MSIP-REM-WMG-1334940000) variants are in preparation.
