availability of its new StoneGate Authentication solution. This new solution
combines multiple authentication methods to provide secure remote access to
critical data and applications across the network.
Recently, methods of remote access authentication have become the target of
large-scale cyber attacks and data theft. Most recently, RSA was the victim of a
major security breach that may have exposed sensitive information regarding two-
factor authentication tokens for approximately 40 million users of its SecurID
solution. Without any way to confirm how this information is being used, many
organizations are seeking additional measures to ensure secure remote access to
their networks. Additionally, organizations continue to site secure access
concerns as a primary reason for not pursuing cloud computing strategies that
could deliver significant efficiencies to IT.
Unlike RSA's SecurID and similar solutions, StoneGate Authentication deploys a
dynamic rather than static solution. Rather than delivering a tangible token to
mobile and remote users, Stonesoft's software-based solution combines SSL VPN
and authentication server capabilities with other deployed authentication
methods that can be pushed to any remote device.
The StoneGate Authentication solution also includes the StoneGate Management
Center, which simplifies and centralizes network monitoring and management.
Through a single point of view, network administrators can quickly identify any
issues and drill down to critical log data. Lastly, it enables updates to be
made to the solution as quickly as the ever-evolving network security threat
landscape changes. Because security updates can be monitored and managed through
a single management console, the StoneGate Authentication solution is ideal for
organizations that wish to improve or deploy secure remote access to the cloud.
