Also, Veritas Pharma is pleased with the Canadian government's recent announcement about the proposed legislation for the legalization of adult-use cannabis in Canada on or before July 1, 2018. Dr. Franciosi stated, its a significant step toward the legalization and regulation of cannabis, with the potential to do more product development to confirm cannabiss efficacy as a legitimate alternative to drugs such as opioids. According to Deloitte, the market for marijuana products and services in Canada is estimated to be $22.6 billion when legalized (Business Insider/Toronto Star - Oct. 2016).
