Delhaize Group Completes the Sale of its German Operations

In December2008, Delhaize Group decided to start the divestiture process of itsfour German stores, which resulted in an agreement to sell theseactivities to Rewe in July 2009.The divestiture of the four German stores to Rewe has been approvedby the German antitrust authorities and as a result, the earlierannounced transaction has been closed.Delhaize Group entered the German market as a test in 2003. In 2008,Delhaize Germany recorded EUR 19.5 million in revenues and a smalloperating loss.
