GreenFields and Unisport join forces in Scandinavia
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
GreenFields bv (Genemuiden, the Netherlands) and Unisport Scandinavia AB
(Landskrona, Sweden) become partners for the Scandinavian market. GreenFields
and Unisport entered into a commercial alliance in order to supply the
Scandinavian market with GreenFields' qualified synthetic turf systems.
Strategic cooperation within the value chain will enhance improvement of the
durability, quality and playing performance and innovation.
GreenFields (majority owned by TenCate) is a leading company for high-end sport
systems in the international synthetic turf market. The company, a prominent
member of the FIFA Preferred Producer (FPP) program, offers its products
directly and through related installers and provides qualified systems (FIFA,
UEFA, FIH, IRB etc.) to the market place. Unisport is the leading Nordic
supplier of sports flooring, including synthetic turf. The company supplied
sports flooring and sport pitches for official tournaments in the Scandinavian
region.
Worldwide distribution
TenCate, market leader in the field of synthetic turf fibres and carpet backing
for sports pitches and landscaping, recently increased its share in GreenFields.
The support of TenCate increases the growth capabilities of GreenFields. In
2010 circa 420 GreenFields sport pitches have been installed internationally.
By connecting GreenFields' capabilities to other players in the market, the
worldwide distribution power will be strengthened. The collaboration with
Unisport Scandinavia will enhance GreenFields' distribution in Scandinavia.
Earlier this year, GreenFields entered into a co-operation with CSC Ceelen Sport
Constructies, a leading construction company of sports fields in the
Netherlands.
Continued expansion in Scandinavia
Unisport Scandinavia is the leader in sports surfaces with an impressive growth
on the Scandinavian market in the past years. Unisport is active in Sweden,
Denmark, Norway and Finland. The company has in-house contracting for the
installation of sports flooring, tennis courts, synthetic turf, rubber matting
and line marking in sports centres. Also, Unisport and Bresco, the present
GreenFields affiliate in Norway will put a strategy in place for mutual
cooperation.
