PantherMedia launches its international stock agency website
The German stock agency and photocommunity PantherMedia opens up to an international market with the launch of an English version of its platform.
Since 2004, PantherMedia has been shaping the German royalty free market by offering images at a MidStock price level.
It is their goal to establish this price level internationally by offering professional service and high quality images at affordable prices.

It is facing tremendous growth in terms of supply of digital imagery and at the same time ever decreasing prices, especially in the royalty free business. Within this market environment, an attractive price model has emerged in Germany, called MidStock. High quality images are offered at reasonable prices, but without suffering losses on customer service and legal security. This price model is enabled by technological automation and optimisation of business processes. Pioneer of this new pricing model is the stock agency PantherMedia, founded in 2004 in Munich.
With more than 500,000 royalty free images from more than 15,000 photographers, PantherMedia established this pricing model in the German market. With an English version of its platform, PantherMedia expands this business model to the international stock image market. “We want to export this very successful business model – and we are not talking about English speaking countries only”, explains Robert Walters, managing director of PantherMedia. “We can now serve not only completely new customers abroad, but also the international subsidiaries and parent companies of our existing customer base.”
„With new forms of communication, the demand for images has increased dramatically over the past few years, only the budgets have not”, Walters continues. “The customer therefore expects reduced prices without accepting any loss in service quality or legal security.” Licence fees at PantherMedia range from 5 Euros to 80 Euros per image, depending on the image size. Payment is possible on account, credit card, PayPal or Firstgate Click&Buy in multiple currencies, such as Euros, US-Dollars or British Pounds. There is also a customer service team available Monday to Friday to assist Customers with queries or their image search. Customers can request an image research and, if the desired image is not found, can submit a free and non-binding Customer Image Request. This request is forwarded to 15,000 photographers worldwide. With this level of service, the MidStock model will not only prevail in the German market, but also internationally.
Statistics prove that this business model is not only approved by customers who purchase images, but also by the photographers. The number of images on the PantherMedia platform grows by more than 1,000 per day, with the focus not on quantity, but on quality. The platform is opened to international photographers simultaneously. This ensures the growth in quantity and regional diversity of PantherMedia’s archive on a global scale.
