(firmenpresse) - London – 22 May 2017 – UKCloud, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured cloud services company, can today announce that several new and improved services are now available on the latest iteration of the G-Cloud Framework, G-Cloud 9. The updates will enable greater choice and flexibility for UKCloud’s customers when it comes to running traditional and cloud native workloads.

In-keeping with the launch of previous iterations, UKCloud has committed to delivering more for less on G-Cloud 9, offering further cost reductions across its service catalogue, including its Cross Domain Security Zone (CDSZ), which will see prices fall by up to 50 percent. UKCloud customers will also benefit from more flexible pricing on the UKCloud Oracle platform and a range of enhanced features, including data-at-rest encryption in its Cloud Storage, and Cloud GPU at no extra cost.

UKCloud’s new Disaster Recovery service – powered by Zerto, the leading provider of replication and recovery software – will also now be available via G-Cloud for the first time. The service complements other new features that are focused on traditional enterprise workloads, including larger maximum Virtual Machine environments, new tooling to facilitate workload migration from on-premises to cloud, and additional backup and recovery options.

“As a committed supporter of G-Cloud, we welcome the latest iteration, which promises to be the best yet, thanks to the comprehensive consultation process undertaken by the Government Digital Service and Crown Commercial Service,” said Simon Hansford, CEO of UKCloud. “As a supplier to the Framework since the very beginning, we are delighted to continue our tradition of releasing several new and enhanced service offerings on the innovative new G-Cloud 9.”

UKCloud will additionally introduce further options for Cloud Native workloads, including new Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Quickstart, enabling faster and easier deployment of PaaS environments. The company continues support for Cloud Foundry, the leading open source PaaS and introduces Red Hat OpenShift, powered by both Docker and Kubernetes, to provide a native code services platform for modern applications. This is as well as UKCloud’s continued investment in OpenStack. The company was the first UK public sector cloud provider to support OpenStack Mitaka and was joint winner of the OpenStack Superuser Award at the OpenStack Summit in Boston earlier this month.

G-Cloud 9 will have a renewed emphasis on suppliers’ security credentials, improving the buyer journey through granular service categorisation, and providing easy to understand terms and conditions. UKCloud expects these innovative changes to attract even more buyers than before, from a wider range of organisations within the public sector.

The combination of a range of solutions designed specifically for UK public sector requirements, together with exceptional compliance, service performance and support credentials, confirm UKCloud’s unique position supporting public sector digital transformation and its customers who deliver critical services to citizens.
