ISO team presented "Virtual Travel Manager using Amazon Alexa" during IATA NDC Hackathon
(PresseBox) - As a IATA Strategic Partner having the status "NDC Capable" Level 1, software developers of the ISO-Gruppe took part in IATA's NDC Hackathon in Dublin where they presented the application "Virtual Travel Manager using Amazon Alexa". The voice-controlled search and booking option makes it possible to book flights for business travelers based on corporate guidelines as well as personal preferences.
The new IATA data standard New Distribution Capability (NDC) is designed to provide travelers with greater flexibility as well as more variety as to tariffs and offers in their choice of air tickets. As a IATA Strategic Partner ? particularly for NDC ? ISO is also officially NDC Capable.
And it is on this topic that IATA organizes so-called hackathons. The last venue was Dublin, to where four software developers of the ISO-Gruppe traveled to program an NDC-compatible application on-site. The schedule was tight: Over a period of two long days and nights with no sleep, the ISO developers programmed the "Virtual Travel Manager using Amazon Alexa", an an application for voice-based searching and booking of flights for business travelers. The application takes corporate guidelines into account along with personal preferences of the travelers. At the end of the event, the "Virtual Travel Manager using Amazon Alexa" was presented and won high praise. ISO will continue to address the subject of voice control in the context of NDC in close cooperation with IATA.
