International partnership with AMEC Foster Wheeler, Tecnatom and Element / Focus on quality assurance measures when qualifying components for new power plants
(PresseBox) - Global testing service provider TÜV Rheinland has launched a new partnership to qualify components and elements for nuclear power plants. Its partners are British companies AMEC Foster Wheeler and Element, and Tecnatom, a Spanish company. As an international equipment qualification service alliance, the partnership is aimed at ensuring the quality of individual systems, parts and components for new power plants as a one-stop service covering planning, performing and monitoring the tests that are required. In this alliance, TÜV Rheinland is entrusted with the task of conducting quality assurance measures, ranging from the evaluation of test specifications and the inspection and approval of test facilities to the assessment of test results.
The qualification of components and parts, which includes the necessary qualification of materials, plays a key role when building new power plants. Specifically, this involves compliance with the mandatory highest safety standards in order to achieve not only the necessary level of safety and reliability in operations but also the cost efficiency required when building new plants. The new alliance of the four partners from Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany is aimed at projects on the Western European market and will be a valuable partner for its customers thanks to the special expertise and experience at its disposal.
