Percona Names John Breitenfeld Executive Vice President of Sales

An industry veteran with more than 25 years of services and software sales expertise, Breitenfeld has spent the past 12 years helping organizations leverage and support open source more effectively and securely. Breitenfeld most recently served as regional vice president for Rogue Wave Software, the world's largest independent provider of cross-platform software development tools and embedded components, where his teams sold the first enterprise OSS CentOS support contract and consistently surpassed sales goals. Before Rogue Wave, Breitenfeld was vice president of sales, Americas, for Black Duck Software, an organization that helps companies streamline, safeguard, and manage the use of open source software. While at Black Duck Software, he grew sales for the American region by more than 1,000% over eight years and led the company's successful penetration into the technology, financial services, automotive, government and energy markets. Prior to discovering the power of open source, Breitenfeld held positions at Dun & Bradstreet, Ariba, Oracle, and Bearing Point.
Breitenfeld holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.
