Oslo, Norway, 31 May, 2011 - Edvantage group, Europe's leading provider of
cloud-based learning and performance solutions, congratulates their client,
Hydro Aluminium Høyanger Verk, for winning HR Norway's Competence Development
Award 2011 (Kompetanseprisen) for competence development programmes.  HR Norway
is the country's largest HR and management network, consisting of 1,850 members
and member organisations from both the public and private sectors

Høyanger Verk faced tight economic pressure at a time when the industry believed
size was essential for effective operations and ultimate profitability. Høyanger
leveraged its strengths and improved the execution of business processes that
could impact bottom-line results. Their resulting competence development
programmes are viewed by many as a significant success story, ready for
replication in other Hydro production plants both in and outside Norway.

Høyanger Verk established and carried out a series of effective goal-based
competence development programmes.  Edvantage group supported Høyanger Verk with
a range of e-learning solutions designed to automate competence profiling
through online tests and assessments, deliver targeted learning programmes to
fill skill gaps, and support teams in further development. In the Electrolysis
Division, for example, over 1,500 online self-tests were completed by operators
in one month using Edvantage group's  Learning Gateway, learning management
system.  "We knew e-learning would help us structure and measure competence
development," said Kjellbjørn Fossheim, Project Leader Competence Development,
Hydro Aluminium Høyanger. "Edvantage group's solutions made it easier to
integrate competence development with each stage of our production processes."

Høyanger achieved more, setting all-time production levels. They also reduced

customer complaints on the 117,000 ton of aluminum they deliver to their German
customers.  Simultaneously, Høyanger has reduced production costs by $260
dollars per ton since 2008, resulting in equivalent savings of 85 million
Norwegian crowns (NOK) per year.

Thomas Berglund, CEO, Edvantage group, states, "Høyanger is a text-book example
of how organisations can use competence development to achieve better results.
It takes commitment and dedication to create an entire organisation culture
built around learning and performance, and Høyanger has really excelled in doing
this. Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishments."
