Virus attack: complete Computersystem down at the Federal Network Agency
Authority responsible for the security of energy supply victim of a virus attack
(PresseBox) - Following a resolution by the OLG Düsseldorf http://rs-utilityservice.de/download/05.07.17_12.58_Telefax.pdf, yesterday it was revealed that the entire computer system of the Federal Network Agency was apparently brought to a standstill by a virus.
For some years now, people in the energy sector ? whose security ought to be guaranteed by the Federal Network Agency ? have been voicing their concerns about security, in particular IT security, believing it to be inadequate both in the energy sector as a whole and at the Federal Network Agency itself.

It is about time that real specialists in the field of IT security tackle this matter and ensure that any open IT risks are dealt with.
RS Utility Service UG, as a service provider, operates primarily in the energy sector and for energy suppliers.
They are also experts in IT security and in the development of specialised software for the energy industry.
Since April 2017, RS Utility Service has been the first German IT company to offer electronic certificates with the signature algorithm RSASSA-PSS via their TrustCenter, thus providing their customers with future-proof, electronic infrastructure.
They also offer software, the SignaturCockpit, which already meets the security requirements for communication in the German energy industry set to come into force as of 1 January 2018.
As far back as 2003, Ralf Schmidt, an employee at RS Utility Service, was already analysing the risks posed by viruses and trojans and developed solutions to fend off such threats:

These solutions could even have been used to protect the Federal Network Agency.
