Fortis Inc. and Subsidiary Utilities Donate US$100,000 to Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts
(firmenpresse) - ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNLAND AND LABRADOR -- (Marketwired) -- 09/05/17 -- Fortis Inc. ("Fortis" or the "Corporation") (TSX: FTS)(NYSE: FTS) today announced a US$100,000 contribution to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
"Our thoughts are with the thousands of families who have suffered tremendous devastation and loss as a result of Hurricane Harvey," said Mr. Barry Perry, President and CEO of Fortis. "We wanted to lend our support to the relief efforts underway and the residents impacted by Hurricane Harvey."
The US$100,000 contribution is made in partnership by Fortis Inc. and its subsidiary utilities Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. (New York), ITC Holdings Corp. (Michigan) and Arizona based UNS Energy Corp.
The American Red Cross continues to work around the clock to help thousands affected by Hurricane Harvey. The funds raised support relief efforts such as shelters, cots and blankets, and meals for people seeking refuge. To learn more visit .
