ID: 559291

(firmenpresse) - BEND, OR -- (Marketwired) -- 09/08/17 -- Sunshine Retirement Living, a family-owned senior living management company with 22 senior communities in 10 states, announced today that it will waive upfront community fees at four of its independent living communities for seniors whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Harvey, and potentially by Hurricane Irma now bearing down on the Southeast. The communities include: The Continental Retirement Community and The Clairmont Retirement Community in Austin, Texas; The Landing at Behrman Place Retirement Community in New Orleans; and, Fountain Crest Retirement Community in Lehigh Acres, Florida, near Ft. Myers.

"Hurricane Harvey was absolutely devastating to so many families and individuals in Texas and Louisiana," said Luis Serrano, CEO, Sunshine Retirement Living. "By waiving community fees at our communities nearest to the impact area, we hope to provide seniors with the ability to move into a new home quickly and affordably. This offer extends also to those seniors in Florida, who may lose their homes on account of Hurricane Irma."

Seniors who wish to take advantage of the offer must provide proof of residence in the areas impacted by both hurricanes. The rental agreements at Sunshine Retirement Living communities require a 90-day commitment, and can be extended on a month-to-month basis after that period.

"Depending on the severity of the damage to their homes, seniors can choose to make our communities their permanent home, or stay as long as they need while their homes are being repaired," explained Luis Serrano.
