QUBIC ceiling-mounted LED luminaire impresses with its minimalistic design
(PresseBox) - Outstanding award: Brumberg, a family-owned company and lighting manufacturer from the Sauerland region, has won the globally recognised Red Dot Award. The QUBIC ceiling-mounted LED luminaire, jointly developed with designer Alexander Grimm, impressed the jury with its high quality of design. ?We are very happy about this internationally recognised award. A challenging task perfectly implemented
?Brumberg?s specification was to develop designs for a cubic ceiling-mounted luminaire with an energy-efficient LED reflector and at the same time create striking lighting effects?, according to Alexander Grimm (Lounge Design). Another requirement: ?The design should be unobtrusive and lightweight.? Ronny Eysser (Lounge Design) adds. The challenge for the award-winning designer was to find something special within this limited context. ?The key to the solution ? and to the luminaire?s distinguishing feature ? was the optical uncoupling from the ceiling by means of the rear design of a light ring?, explained Michael Ruschmann (Lichtraum Ruschmann Stein GmbH), who had the idea for the solution. This is also the special feature of the QUBIC ceiling-mounted luminaire: the fascinating lighting effect creates the impression that the cube is floating on the ceiling. The QUBIC ceiling-mounted LED luminaire can be used anywhere a modern design-oriented ambience, simplicity of form and special lighting aesthetic are called for. ?The luminaire itself has no emotional style. It appears cool, unpretentious and clear. Emotions can be created by the beautiful lighting effect on the ceiling?, Grimm emphasised.
Technical details for QUIBIC from Brumberg
The QUBIC ceiling-mounted LED luminaire: square, white, 3000K colour temperature, fitted with a 9 watt high-performance LED shining directly down and a 1.5 watt indirect light component for the ceiling illumination, ceiling installation via screw mounting and 230V direct connection, for use in an area of general or accent lighting, energy-efficiency class A++ to A. The QUBIC ceiling-mounted luminaire is also available as an LED spot [350 mA, 6W, 2700K] in two different versions. Whether square or round, as general or accent lighting, the LED spots set the scene in a room perfectly and can be used as a design family to meet the various requirements in the room.
