Kent Exploration Inc. Highlights
Kent Exploration is a mineral exploration company, building a portfolio of
properties highly prospective for gold and silver, base metals and coal
mineralization in the western United States, western Canada, New Zealand and
Australia. The company's main objective is to finance operations and the
exploration of its gold properties from projected cash flow from the company's
fully permitted barite mine in Washington State.
In New Zealand, the company has three gold prospects in the historical, highly
prolific, Reefton Goldfield district. Mineralization in the Reefton Goldfield
district typically consists of high grade free milling gold in veins, often
surrounded by a lower grade halo of refractory ore. An up to 3,000 meter diamond
drill program is underway on the Alexander River Gold Project. Historic reports
indicate that approximately 8 million ounces of placer gold have been recovered
in the Reefton and district gold camps and 2 million ounces of lode gold have
been recovered from the Reefton mining camp.
In Washington, USA, the Flagstaff barite mine is located approximately 5 miles
west of Northport Washington, and 15 miles south of Rossland. There is a
historic resource of over 1.3 million tons of 4.2 SG barite in a surface
deposit. Barite is used as a weighting agent in oil & gas well drilling. The
company has a mine permit to mine up to 100,000 tons of barite per year, and has
entered into a take off agreement to supply Matovitch Mining Industries Ltd
(MMIL) a minimum 20,000 tons barite per year. Kent estimates there is
approximately 30,000 to 50,000 tons of ore stockpiled on the site ready for
processing. The current sale price of barite at the mine gate is US$52/ton.
Barite is often associated with lead/zinc mineralization and the Company also
plans on following up the historic reports of possible lead/zinc mineralization
on the Flagstaff property.
In Australia, the Company holds more than 10 million plus shares, or
approximately 35%, of Archean Star Resources Inc, which is listed on the TSX
Venture Exchange under the symbol ASP. Archean Star has an option agreement to
earn a 75% back in right, to earn 100% of Teck Australia's interest in Chalice
Gold Mines' Gnaweeda Gold project in West Australia. The company has spent close
to $1.5 million (Australian dollars) in property expenditures, and reported
results such as 18 metres of 11.7 f=grams per tonne gold.
