Cooperation agreement signed
IVU Traffic Technologies and ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkersbetriebe AG signed a cooperation agreement to(firmenpresse) - Berlin/Hanover, 16 November 2017 – The ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG and the Berlin IT specialist IVU Traffic Technologies have a common goal: to always deliver the best possible service to customers. The two companies will be coming even closer together in the future. With a newly signed cooperation agreement, they want to further the development of systems and standards for public transportation together.
The goal of the contract is to implement industry advancements into software developments more quickly and put them into operation. To accomplish this, IVU product developers are going to be working on site at ÜSTRA in Hanover in the future. Together with the IT department at ÜSTRA and specialised operators, they will identify early needs and process potential solutions. Having close accessibility to the IVU release cycle ensures that the ÜSTRA projects immediately flow into product planning. Thanks to the standard concepts of IVU.suite, solutions developed in the course of the collaboration will be available to all IVU customers worldwide.
“IVU is very experienced and knows the operational challenges of large transportation companies like ÜSTRA. At the same time, their developers have a lot of innovative product ideas. We want to benefit from this combination,” says André Neiß, CEO of ÜSTRA. “With the cooperation agreement, we can become more involved in product development and contribute to defining industry-wide standards. In doing this, we gain access to the newest developments, with which we can continuously improve our offering to our customers.”
ÜSTRA and IVU have worked together closely for a long time. Multiple IVU systems are run by the Hanover-based transportation company, which was a pioneer in traffic engineering. Up to now, that has included many custom developments whose upkeep is cumbersome. These proprietary solutions are meant to be carried over into IVU’s standard products. What's more, ÜSTRA will have up-to-date system updates within a few weeks of finalisation, through which improved solutions will be more quickly available to ÜSTRA and its customers.

That makes them the optimal partner for us,” says Matthias Rust, COO of IVU. “With this cooperation agreement, we gain first-hand industry know-how, we see more quickly what solutions are needed by transport operators, and we can take that into account in our standard system.”
