IP innovation at its best: A new state of the art broadcast facility at Al-Araby
How content control and management helps Al-Araby engage with its viewers.
State-of-the-art Al-Araby news agency(firmenpresse) - Launched in 2015, Al-Araby operates globally, with journalists in more than 20 countries bringing breaking news stories to its TV and website audiences. Because of the rapid expansion, the organisation moved to a new studio facility in North West London. Besides other specialities they needed a scalable IPTV solution that could handle 22 news and content channels within their site to 150 PCs and 30 screens located around the new building.
As our certified and trained partner in the UK, Garland developed an outstanding cost-effective concept using our rock solid IP innovations and created an end-to-end solution that met all customer needs.
Content is sourced from satellite and terrestrial DVB feeds as well as in-house channels. Our high-density DVB head-end converts signals from 16 separate transponders to IP streams. The most important feeds are directly send into the studio for monitoring by using an additional six DMM DVB satellite blade.
Up to 12 in-house channels from both HDMI and SDI sources are converted to H.264 IP transport streams for presentation to the network using our ENC-400 encoder mounted in a single 1RU chassis with redundant power supplies.
All 22 channels of HD content are distributed to Al-Araby's 150-member team by using our easily to install X-Player software application for PCs. For perfect and very convenient monitoring of any contents, Garland relied on our ICUE GRID video wall. In this case 16 HD channels can be presented at the same time in any combination and any layout. Furthermore they have the possibility to add more channels. No wonder at all it became the centrepiece of this beautiful new facility.
