The best school trips for geography pupils are fun, educational and valu-able. The UK has many brilliant places to visit for unforgettable learning experiences.

(firmenpresse) - There are plenty of destinations up and down the UK that can bring your geography les-sons to life. The best school trips will be fun, educational, and valuable for students, pro-viding them with hands-on knowledge that they can’t get from a textbook.

Here are three brilliant destinations for an unforgettable geography trip that your pupils are sure to love.

Scarborough: Rotunda Museum & Robin Hood’s Bay

If you want to teach your students about the geological and coastal aspects of geography then a trip to Dinosaur Coast is a great choice. In addition to seeing evidence of coastal erosion and shifting land and sea dating back millions of years, Robin’s Hood Bay is also home to Britain’s oldest seaside town.

The Bay is teeming with fossilised sea animals because it was originally many miles be-low the sea. Be sure to educate and entertain your group with a trip to the Rotunda Mu-seum, where they can see many more impressive fossils and even dinosaur skeletons that were excavated in the area. Your students will certainly agree that the best school trips involve dinosaurs!

Snowdonia: National Park & Sygun Copper Mine

Looking to amaze your students with an eye-opening trip? Snowdonia is Wales’ highest peak with epic physical geography set within the enormous and very beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Amazing views out to sea, unique features and rewarding walks all await here, whilst the Education Centre provides useful examples and information which is suitable for all age groups.

No trip to the area is complete without checking out the impressive Sygun Copper Mine. Now a museum which demonstrates the complex and intricate relationship between physical and political geography, there is a lot to be learnt here.

Cornwall: Eden Project

This stunning attraction in Cornwall is ideal for a geography trip as it provides the oppor-tunity to explore the world’s biggest indoor rainforest! In addition to this, there are flexible learning programmes available which allow your class to learn in an immersive environ-ment.

Curriculum-based workshops can cater from Foundation Years through to A-Level, and there are also brilliant team-based activities as part of the Eden Challenge. This provides a fun yet educational experience for students that is the perfect platform for learning. Your group could also participate in the cool Eden Evenings events, which are held once the Project has closed to the public and are only available to schools. No matter the age group, the Eden Project will amaze students with everything there is to see and have them talking about the trip for weeks to come.

The UK is an island with many interesting physical characteristics; this makes it a superb place for geography students to explore with “hands-on” lessons that can be both fun and educational.
