(firmenpresse) - Warrington, 4th January 2018 Airangel, the enterprise guest WiFi solutions provider, has provided Get Living with WiFi as a secure, managed service for its 400 new rented homes in Elephant and Castle.
Through Airangel, WiFi connectivity is enabled from the day a new resident moves in to Elephant Central, at no extra cost. By removing the need for residents to make their own WiFi installation arrangements, Get Living prevents radio environments becoming congested and weakening WiFi connections when buildings reach resident capacity.
Airangel carried out heat mapping both pre and post-installation to ensure that WiFi coverage met the latest industry standards, meaning at least -65dbm signal to all corners of each apartment. As Elephant Central comprises three buildings of 400 homes and a student accommodation building of 300 student studios, Airangel can support 1,000 connected devices at peak times, meaning sufficient bandwidth over resilient connectivity.
To give residents a true ‘home WiFi experience’ that allows devices to be connected, including smart TVs and wireless speakers, Airangel provides a Private Area Network. This involves residents receiving a unique WiFi key at check-in, and allowing for interconnected devices in each apartment, securely transmitting using WPA2/AES encryption standards. Neighbouring PANs are therefore isolated and secured from one another.
The new homes at Elephant Central include a private garden terrace, supermarket, gym, bicycle storage, restaurants and shops. Airangel used the same core infrastructure to deploy WiFi to all remaining public areas, inside and out. Future retail tenants with external seating therefore benefit through attracting and retaining customers as they can access their WiFi wherever they are located.
Dean Wilkinson, CEO at Airangel said: “Get Living’s Elephant Central homes presented us with a few challenges as the buildings use modern construction materials that pose an issue for the distribution of WiFi signals, and is prone to co-channel interference. However, thanks to our expertise in the private rental sector, we could successfully deploy our technology, accounting for the fundamentals of radio frequency engineering in residential buildings of this type.”
Neil Young, CEO, Get Living said: “WiFi is just as important to our residents as any other utility, so it was essential that we worked with a managed service provider that could offer the level of service needed to support the ‘connected home’ lifestyle. The connectivity and specialist expertise offered by Airangel allows our residents to access WiFi wherever they are at Elephant Central for work, rest or play.”
