LMT presents downlight SCOPE iris in physical and virtual reality

At the Light + Building, LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH intends to launch the newly designed luminaire SCOPE iris. The LED downlight with light ring combines functional and decorative illumination.

(firmenpresse) - Hilpoltstein, March 6, 2018 – LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH presents with SCOPE iris a downlight, which unites functional and decorative light in one luminaire. The directed functional light source in the center is surrounded and overlaid by a soft, diffuse component. This creates a pleasant light texture with a smooth transition to the ceiling. SCOPE iris offers the possibility to create exciting effects especially in large-scale ceilings or to let low and oppressive ceilings appear higher.
The sister product SCOPE cone with coated ceiling passe-partout gives the architect the option to let ceilings look either unobtrusive or eye-catching – depending on the colour of the passe-partouts rings.
All products of the SCOPE family are equally suitable for applications in public buildings as well as in offices or residential buildings. To facilitate the selection of the appropriate luminaire, LMT gives the planners and clients the opportunity to view the products via Augmented Reality (AR) App, either visualized as built-in luminaires in a physical ceiling or as rotatable virtual Models.

SCOPE iris was developed by Conceptlicht. „The basic idea for this downlight existed already in 1995, as we created a halogen downlight for a private client. The effect was so convincing, that we shortly thereafter designed a fixture for fluorescent lamps, and now also with LED“, explains Helmut Angerer, CEO of Conceptlicht GmbH, Traunreut.

The downlight SCOPE is available in different types: SCOPE iris with illuminated ceiling ring and satinized cover pane, SCOPE cone with a passe-partout ring made of coated steel (also feasible in project specific colours), as well as SCOPE box in a square shape.
The luminaires have an outside diameter of 14 cm and a minimum installation depth of 12 cm. The reflectors with perfect glare control are available in three different beam angles: 2x 30°, 2x 45° or 2x 60°. One Lumenetix CTM module (multicolour + tunable white) offers a CRI of 90+, white light from 1650 up to 8000 Kelvin as well as coloured light in every requested hue and intensity.

The diffuse component of the SCOPE iris has neutral white LEDs and is enormously energy saving due to its power consumption of only 4 Watt. Additionally it is applicable as a safety light. Both components can be separately switched and controlled, so that different lighting atmospheres are feasible by using only one type of luminaire. „With the new SCOPE iris we present at the Light + Building an enormously versatile downlight with an impressive lighting effect and additionally we provide our clients for the first time the possibility to experience this and other products with our new Augmented Reality App“, as Michael Otterpohl, CEO of LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH, points out.

During the Light + Building the new SCOPE iris will be displayed for the first time at the booth of LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH in hall 4.1, stand A84, and at the special exhibition “Innovationspreis Architektur+ Technik” by AIT in hall 3.0, stand C20.
