Beautiful Croatian Resorts Away From The Busier Tourist Spots
There are not many places as beautiful as Croatia. Resorts in this country abound where guests can enjoy the beauty away from the more touristy areas.
(firmenpresse) - If you are the type of traveller who prefers to visit lesser explored regions and go off the beaten path then you cannot go wrong with Croatia. Resorts are found throughout the country nestled in the landscape of the diverse and stunning natural beauty that this country is famous for, but without the hordes of tourists that you find in the more popular areas like Dubrovnik.
If this sounds like your kind of trip, any of the following Croatia resorts could be worth for a holiday experience like no other.
Vis
Those who like to push the boat out - literally and figuratively - should book a stay in Vis, which is the farthest offshore island inhabited by humans in the Adriatic, and Croatia’s oldest offshore settlement. Despite this, it has been untouched by the tourism boom which has transformed many other Croatia resorts as foreigners were not allowed onto the island until 1989. There is plenty to explore, including secret caves and tunnels which also reveal the island’s intriguing military history to justify embarking on the challenging trip.
Hotel San Giorgio is the ideal place for kicking back after a day of exploring with com-fortable rooms, a relaxed ambience and a nice stone courtyard where you can catch some rays.
Baska Voda
Whisking that special someone away for a romantic holiday in Croatia? Resorts in the “Makarska Riviera” are your best bet with Baska Voda being one of my favourites. Here you can enjoy delicious fresh seafood, mesmerising views and glamorous hotels all with-in a charming fishing village setting. Baska Voda is one of the livelier resorts in the area, so head out here if you like the idea of indulging in a lively and friendly nightlife.
There are a number of good options for hotels, but Grand Hotel Slavia stands out from the crowd thanks to its enviable position on the waterfront and easy access to the Blue Flag beach. It also has fantastic facilities, including a gym, multiple saunas and a lovely indoor swimming pool.
Lopud
A minuscule island off the coast of Dalmatia measuring a mere 4.63 km, this is the per-fect escape thanks to its gorgeous sandy beaches and the fact that it is car free (bliss!). The island makes a good choice for families seeking somewhere quiet, peaceful and safe. Many come here to flop on the beach and take in the views, but those interested in culture will be happy to hear that there is a cool 15th-century monastery and remains of Rector’s Palace to check out.
Lafodia Sea Resort puts you in prime position for enjoying the water with boats, canoes, kayaks and pedaloes all available for hire. It is a great hotel for young families thanks to the kid’s clubs and interconnecting rooms.
There are few destinations more intriguing and beautiful than Croatia. Resorts here can be difficult to differentiate, but these three are all fantastic places to stay if you want to sample the country’s great beauty and to travel to the lesser explored regions of the in-creasingly popular country.
