AboveNet Connects Low Latency Network to Options Datacentre's UK Facility

White Plains, N.Y. and London, August 22, 2011 - AboveNet, Inc. (NYSE:ABVT), a
leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, today announced that
it has connected its newly-upgraded low latency network to Options Datacentres,
a London-based provider of 'state-of-the-art' data centre facilities.
Options Datacentres, whose portfolio of clients includes organisations within
the insurance, banking, healthcare, IT/Cloud and governmental sectors, is now
connected to AboveNet's international private optical network and extensive
fibre footprint for high bandwidth connectivity.
Options Datacentres customers will benefit from access to AboveNet's complete
portfolio of metro Ethernet, WDM, long haul and IP transit services, in Europe
and the US with connections to more than 450 data centres. AboveNet's
infrastructure includes more than 2.3 million fibre miles, an intercity network
spanning approximately 13,000 route miles and a global Tier 1 IP backbone.

The new connection to Options Datacentres demonstrates AboveNet's strategy of
