SMM Hamburg: Gleistein showcases latest innovations for commercial marine and unveils dedicated catalogue for mooring solutions
Gleistein Ropes presents its latest products for the commercial marine market at this year’s SMM in Hamburg, the world’s number one trade fair for the maritime industry. Among the highlights will be a new towing line, the strong and convenient GeoLink Lashings as well as Gleistein’s esteemed FLX Mooring System – delivering significant cost-savings over its extensive lifetime. Furthermore, Gleistein is also launching an all-new dedicated catalogue for mooring solutions at the fair, which runs 4-7 September 2018. The Gleistein Ropes booth is located in Hall A1, Stand 424.

At this year’s SMM, Gleistein Ropes will predominantly focus on two work-intensive areas of the commercial marine industry: towing and mooring. On display will be the new TowMaster towing line, an extremely durable high-strength polyester multi-core rope with perfect shock absorption qualities and featuring longitudinal stripes for effective torsion protection. Gleistein’s superb GeoLink Lashings will also appear at the stand: these bright yellow soft shackles are a cinch to fasten, they hold securely and are a breeze to reopen time and again. And certain to be a major highlight for visitors at the stand will be the presentation of a demonstration FLX Mooring System combination at the stand, comprising of mooring line and tail.
New dedicated catalogue for commercial marine mooring solutions
Just a few short months after the release of its catalogue focusing on towing systems, Gleistein Ropes now also unveils its latest dedicated catalogue for mooring solutions at SMM in Hamburg. Both catalogues share the new, clear design that concisely outlines the benefits in a short description and the three decisive product advantages. This significantly enhances readability and ensures customers find the solution they seek faster.
For the first time, the new mooring solutions catalogue also presents the premium FLX Mooring System as a complete system – using the example of three main mooring lines and three ready-to-use tails – categorised in common-use scenarios with varying breaking load classes. This supplemented by an easy-to-understand illustration that outlines the generous cost savings the FLX Mooring System can provide over its lifetime – highlighting that this superior mooring solution is also the most effective over the medium term. Naturally, also featured in the new catalogue are premium conventional mooring lines, including widely acclaimed GeoTwin WinchMaster, as well as further content highly relevant to mooring requirements.
