The Best Places to Eat on a Les Arcs Ski Holiday

Tuck in at Les Arcs ski resort! Check out some of our favourite places to eat after a long day of fun in the snow.

(firmenpresse) - The one thing you want guaranteed at the end of a long day of winter sports action is a refreshing drink and a nice meal. Les Arcs ski resort has you covered, because the huge selection of bars, cafés, restaurants and general eateries in the four separate resorts mean that you will never go hungry or thirsty – or run out of choices. With options for even the fussiest visitor, here are a few of the best place to eat and drink.

Restaurants

The second highest of Les Arcs’ ski resorts, Arc 1800 is the home to the largest number of dining establishments – with over 50 restaurants serving up a diverse range of tastes and cuisines. One of our favourites is Chez Clarisse, which features hearty, quality dishes at reasonable prices; it’s perfect for a nice family dinner at the end of a cold, energetic day in the snow. There is also Mamie Crêpe, which is well-known for having the most delicious crepes for the past 40 years and still counting.

Beyond Arc 1800, there are many other excellent restaurants on offer in the wider Les Arcs ski resort, including Le Savoy in Arc 2000 and Belliou La Fumee, which is the epitome of cosiness. It features an open fire, rich meals and the relaxed atmosphere of a hunting lodge. L’Arpette, found at 2050m, is another top pick, particularly if you’re a fan of cheese. This is a restaurant that specialises in just that, so take a seat at their sun terrace and dig in to a tartiflette or a fondue, or you can just call in for a refreshing drink from their delightful bar.

Many of the restaurants and eateries are family friendly, and warmly welcome family groups and non-family groups alike. Particular stand-outs simply for the entertainment factor are Mille8, located in Arc 1800 which has an aquatic centre, restaurant and sports activities, and La Brasserie at 1950.

Groceries

Despite the satisfyingly range of dining establishments, sometimes it might be preferable to go back to your chalet or apartment and have a home cooked meal. Many of the accommodations come with cooking and dining facilities, so you’re welcome to make use of them - if you can tear your taste buds away from L’Arpette’s fondue, that is!

There are several small supermarkets located at both Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 for a decent range of grocery needs. Bourg St Maurice is also just a 30-minute drive down the mountain and there’s a selection of shops and supermarkets where you can easily stock up on ingredients.

Huski

Huski food and drink delivery service is also a great way to get in the supplies you need, particularly if you have chosen a self-catering accommodation. Simply order everything you need online and then you can pick up from their HQ in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

With such a fantastic range of restaurants, bars and general food services available in the Les Arcs ski region, it’s a wonder how anyone actually manages to get any skiing done. You might want to start choosing your toppings for Mamie Crêpe now...
