ID: 588312

There are many reasons to love a cruise and even more to love the ultra-large ships. Reserve cruise holiday insurance and ensure your holiday is protected.

(firmenpresse) - The smell of the ocean air. All the luxuries of the world’s finest accommodation. Glamorous destinations. There are lots of reasons to love a cruise. There are even more reasons to love the ultra-large vessels.

Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or thinking about taking your first journey on the high seas, one can’t help but be impressed by the world’s largest ships. Whatever your experience, it’s essential to plan ahead to ensure a great trip on the ocean. That includes making sure you’re familiar with your ship, packing appropriately and arranging dedicated cruise holiday insurance.

Harmony of the Seas

More than 6,600 people can fit on this billion-dollar vessel operated by Royal Caribbean. One of the most appealing aspects of the Harmony is the Ultimate Abyss slide, which sends guests flying down 10 decks at a speed of nine miles per hour. That’s excitement that even the largest theme parks struggle to replicate.

Allure of the Seas

The Allure of the Seas is also operated by Royal Caribbean and shares many of the features with other major vessels. Its maiden voyage was in 2010 and it offers 25 different dining options.

There’s even a state-of-the-art theatre onboard with seating for 1,380 guests. In the past, the theatre has hosted performances of major Broadway shows including the Tony award-winning “Chicago.” Because of Royal Caribbean’s partnership with DreamWorks Entertainment, many onboard guests have the chance to interact with characters from major family-friendly films such as “Shrek” and “Madagascar.“

Meraviglia

The Meraviglia is a newer ship run by MSC Cruises and offers several unique features sure to delight onboard guests. Theatrical troupe Cirque du Soleil regularly performs multiple performances per week. There’s also a gigantic indoor promenade with a 262-foot LED Sky that’s open 24 hours per day. A unique dining option is Eataly, the renowned Italian deli chain, which has its own branch onboard.

The Meraviglia had its maiden voyage in 2017 and has a maximum capacity of 5,714 people.

Symphony of the Seas

The Symphony of the Seas is the big daddy of all cruise ships. With 18 different operational decks, 22 restaurants and 24 pools, this is more of a floating city than a cruise ship. Not to mention there’s also a park featuring more than 20,000 tropical plants. The Symphony is even broken up into seven different “neighbourhoods” designed to replicate the feeling of being in different parts of a big city.

In all, the Symphony has a maximum capacity of 6,680 people and measures 1,188 feet from bow to stern. It had its maiden voyage in 2018.

Before You Go

If you’re planning a holiday on one of the world’s largest cruises, it’s important to plan ahead. With so much to do, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. A good idea is to do your research ahead of time so that once onboard you can explore the ship without worrying about missing anything. While you’re at it, reserve a cruise holiday insurance package as well, to ensure that the only thing on your mind while onboard is which activity to do next.
