(firmenpresse) - Making memories is a major part of the study abroad experience, and as a temporary resident of one of the most iconic cities in the world, you’ll want to capture every moment. Although every borough has its highlights, if you’re based in Spitalfields student housing, London will offer some amazing Instagram opportunities.

From incredible street art to the perfect pastels of the flower markets, the photo opportunities really are endless. Here are the top 5 spots for snapping in and around Spitalfields.

The British Museum

Defined by its striking architecture which is almost as impressive as its collections of historical artefacts, the British Museum is an institution that every learner will love. Not far from most student housing, London’s cultural heart is the perfect refuge when the English weather is living up to its reputation. For a striking shot, head to the central staircase of the museum and capture the grandeur of the grand hall right up to the latticed rooftop.

St Paul’s Cathedral

Another one of the capital’s renowned monuments is St Paul’s Cathedral. Iconic from every angle, it is the perfect place for a photo. It makes a great backdrop to show the splendour surrounding your student housing. London’s magnificent dome is best captured from One New Change shopping mall – the reflective windows and mirrored panels of the mall add a great artistic element, too.

Columbia Road Flower Market

No matter where you’re based during your study abroad experience, a trip to this famous flower market is a must. However, living in the east does make it easier. Columbia Road Flower Market is an Instagram lover’s dream, so get up early on a Sunday to beat the mid-morning rush and capture the colours of the blooming stalls.

Scattered along the pretty road are a number of cute cafes and bakeries selling delicious coffee and fresh bagels – the perfect reward after your early Sunday start!

Leadenhall Market

Any Harry Potter fan will already have this place on their bucket list, and if you happen to have picked this area for your student housing, London’s very own Hogwarts shopping street awaits. Used for the scenes filmed in Diagon Alley, Leadenhall Market is a wonderful example of Victorian architecture still with many of its original shopfronts intact.

Sky Garden

It might not be the oldest or most historical attractions, but the highest public garden in the capital certainly boasts some of the best views of the city. A short walk from Spitalfields and your student housing, London’s recognisable Shard is home to a beautiful garden complete with a viewing terrace that provides panoramic views of the world around. If you’re looking for that showstopper shot, Sky Garden is the place to go.

These are only 5 of the hundreds of Instagram-worthy locations for those who have chosen the east of the city for their student housing. London is a treasure trove full of photo opportunities that will certainly make your study abroad experience unforgettable
