(firmenpresse) - There’s no question about it: English summertime is truly magical. After a long winter of rain, the British people leap at any chance to get out in the sunshine from the moment it appears. Park life is part of the culture and you’ll be able to experience the very best green places close by your student housing. London boasts a number of fantastic grassy parkland perfect for relaxing in after a day of studying.

Wherever you’re based in student housing, London’s famous green areas offer the ideal escape from the buzzing urban crowds. Gather a few friends and some snacks, and get yourself out there!

Hyde Park

This is probably the most famous space in the city, thanks to its many movie appearances, central location and size. No matter where you’ve chosen your student housing, London’s beautiful Hyde Park is probably near the top of your tourist bucket list. Situated in the heart of the city, wedged between classy Mayfair and historic Kensington, getting to this attraction is easy.

As well as the huge amount of space, there are many things to do in this top attraction. Rent a bike or paddle boats, play a game of tennis, organise a horse riding lesson or just chill out in one of the outdoor cafes. There’s also a lido that’s great for a dip on a hot summer’s day.

Regent’s Park

As the name suggests, this is one of the Royal Parks. You’ll notice from the moment you enter that there is a regal air about the place. Smaller than Hype Park, Regent’s Park is beautifully landscaped with manicured gardens, fountains and a small lake complete with rowing boats.

If your studying abroad experience takes place in summer, you’ll be able to catch a live performance at the Open Air Theatre found in the gardens. It feels magical to watch a play or live music as the sun sets in the background.

Primrose Hill

This patch of grassland may be small but it offers some mighty sights. Primrose Hill is a sloping stretch of land found just beyond Regent’s Park. It boasts magnificent views of the world below; climb to the top of the hill and watch the sun set over the city.

Hampstead Heath

If it’s near your student housing, London’s Hampstead Heath is definitely worth a visit. This huge green oasis will give you a taste of the English countryside. There’s everything from ponds to swim in, hills to climb up and forests to explore, not to mention numerous paths that criss-cross all over the heath.

It’s easy to spend half a day or more here, and you’ll soon forget that you’re in one of the biggest capital cities in the world. If you’re looking for a green escape, this is the place to go.

These are just four of many parks you can find near your student housing. London is also full of other awesome open spaces like Kensington Gardens, Clapham Common, Battersea – the list could go on! Wherever you’re living, you can find a green space in which to relax.
