Ruukki's structures used to build Finland's largest Ikea store
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Press release 18 September 2009Ruukki is supplying the steel frame and Ikea-blue sandwich panels forIkea's new home furnishings superstore currently under constructionin Tampere. The store will be the first steel-framed Ikea in Finland.Ruukki's delivery includes frame design, manufacture andinstallation, as well as panel deliveries and design of the claddingelements. The order is worth almost EUR 2 million.The project will also make use of Ruukki's structural fire design toensure fire safety of the steel structures in the event of fire andto choose the most effective fire protection method for the differentparts of the construction project. When completed, the largest Ikeastore in Finland will have a floor area of 35,000 square metres."We're focusing on solutions and systems deliveries that includedesign and installation.
