Here are the haulage work companies that won awards at the 2019 Motor Transport Awards.

(firmenpresse) - Those in the business of haulage work likely already know about the Motor Transport Awards – after all, they’re just about the biggest awards ceremony in the logistics industry. However, if you’re unfamiliar with them, we’ll give you a bit of background information. Essentially, it’s a ceremony that recognises the best and the brightest in the transport world. Many consider it to set the bar for excellence among UK vehicle manufacturers, innovators, UK road transport fleet operators and the like.

Part one of this small series on the 2019 instalment of the Motor Transport Awards gave a much more in depth look at the ceremony, while this second and final segment will focus on some of the haulage work companies that won awards this year. Without further ado, here are a few of the businesses that have been recognised for going above and beyond.

Haulier of the Year: Culina Group

When it comes to haulage work, the Culina Group was found to be the best in the biz. They were founded 25 years ago and have since grown to become one of the best FMCG logistics specialists in the UK. The judges attributed their win to their exceptional performance throughout the course of 2018; they have experienced a large amount of growth and profitability over the year. Perhaps their most impressive feat is their stats: they boast over 6,000 employees, 12,000 trucks and 2,000 trailers. Culina also demonstrated a dedicated interest in incorporating new and innovative technology into their firm, which the judges praised.

Safety in Operation Award: Greenergy Flexigrid

When it comes to protecting its own, Greenergy Flexigrid took the top honours. Out of all the haulage work companies, the judges found they had demonstrated the best approach to safety. Most notably they showed continuous and direct interaction between members of the workforce and management, resulting in more control and visibility.

Fleet Truck of the Year: DAF’s XF

DAF is the company that won this award, and the prize lorry (the XF) is definitely an impressive beast for haulage work. It appeals to fleet operators and drivers alike – the former love the price and fuel efficiency, while the latter are huge fans of its spacious and comfortable interior. The XF has proved to be an excellent vehicle for anyone in the logistics industry.

Apprenticeship of the Year: Nagel Langdons

Nagel Langdons apprenticeship programme won the judges over immediately. The scheme recruits trainee drivers, office staff, warehouse operators and workshop technicians and teaches them for anywhere from twelve to 36 months. The apprenticeship is so comprehensive, extensive and impressive that it has seen all 188 of its graduates over the past five years find employment. The judges were especially pleased to see the level of commitment the company had to its students.

From fantastic vehicles to safe operations, the Motor Transport Awards cover the best of the best in the logistics industry. If your company won this year, congratulations! If not, there’s always 2020, so get out there and show the judges why you deserve an award!
