Dallas Health Insurance Enrollment for 2020 Appears to Have Low Participation
For enrollment in Dallas health insurance for 2020, potential participants are likely to pay out of pocket to avoid the high cost of deductibles and premium
(firmenpresse) - Dallas health insurance coverage has continued to fall according to a recently released report by the U.S. Census Bureau. In fact, Texas is the most uninsured state in the nation with nearly 18% (approximately 5 million) of its residents having no health coverage. This trend has created challenges for healthcare facilities and professionals to provide quality care. Many states have supplemented coverage by expanding Medicaid, a joint state-federal program that provides health care to low-income individuals but Texas opted to not do so after the 2010 passage of the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. Since Texas does not provide an exchange that is state-based, recipients of health insurance in Dallas are required to use the federal-run website HealthCare.gov. Consumers can also utilize an independent agent, broker site or company to enroll directly into Obamacare and still receive financial assistance the law provides. Now, many state legislators are advocating for the expansion of Medicaid to increase coverage. The Kaiser Family Foundation reports more than 1 million Texans could benefit from this change alone. Opponents of expanded Medicaid believe this would dramatically raise costs and would ultimately be passed along to consumers. "From my vantage point, we need to maximize the amount of people who have health insurance. That is how we create healthy communities. Medicaid coverage may not be the full solution, but it can be helpful, states Rick Thornton, a Dallas health insurance broker. Even as overall Dallas health coverage figures fall, health care advocates are all communicating the same advice- Maintaining good health is essential, so obtain an affordable health insurance plan with benefits that meets one's specific needs.
