(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Stockholm, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading provider of efficientoptical transport solutions for media, broadcast and IP networks hassigned a frame agreement and received the first order from an Asiantelecommunications service provider for an international videocontribution network connecting a South Asian country with majorcities in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.The service provider, operating a comprehensive terrestrial, subseaand satellite network, is deploying a new media transport solutionusing Net Insight's Nimbra platform. The network will initially allowexchange of content between multiple cities in this South Asiancountry and a number of cities in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.Under the five-year frame agreement, the service provider and itsaffiliates are able to gradually extend the service offering andconnect new customers by procuring additional Net Insight productsand services.Based on a fully redundant core network with dual Nimbra nodes at allPOPs, the operator is able to offer its customers video connectivitywith various degrees of availability using the broad range of routingand restoration features of the Nimbra platform. The first phase ofthe network comprises Nimbra multiservice switches carryingcompressed video (ASI and IP) over optical links with guaranteedquality of service.
