Want to experience a different side of Florence and Tuscany? Tours of these four fantastic gardens offer beautiful tranquility!

(firmenpresse) - The entire city is a UNESCO world heritage site. The region is famous for wine, food, culture, art and stunning landscapes. Of course, it could only be Florence and Tuscany. Tours of the area take in some magnificent sights and attractions, from world class art at the galleries, wine and food tastings, to trips around the birthplace of the renaissance.

The city of Florence is itself a masterpiece, with spectacular architecture around each corner of every cobbled street. It’s no wonder that so many tourists head here each year, as Florence and Tuscany tours deliver the best Italy has to offer! However, although it's known for so many other things, there are a number of wonderful and accessible gardens in the city. These are well worth seeking out and provide a whole new way of exploring this iconic destination. Here are some of the best.

Giardino delle Rose

The garden of roses is a spellbinding place to spend some time, with hundreds of varieties of roses and a great art collection that is set in the tremendous landscape of Florence and Tuscany. Tours of the garden will take in the different varieties of rose and provide a historical guide to the setting.

Boboli Gardens

Over eleven acres, these stunning gardens belong to the palace that was the home of Cosimo I de’ Medici and Eleonora di Toledo in the 1500s. The area is full of statues and sculptures and are some of the most famous and most visited gardens in the region. Indeed, it is so famous that the design has been used in some other famous gardens throughout Europe, including Versailles.

The Iris Garden

Set atop the hill near Piazzale Michelangelo, this is a lovely place to enjoy a view; from here one can certainly experience the splendour of Florence and Tuscany. Tours of the garden take in the hundreds of varieties of Iris flowers, which are often at their most beautiful in May. It’s a great spot for any visitor to the city!

Bardini Garden

This delightful place enjoys fantastic views over the city – arguably the best, considering there are a lot fewer tourists here. There is a café and a gallery that you can visit in between meandering walks through the beautiful green landscape.

Jetting Off

A great way to see the best gardens that the area has to offer is to book one of the many Florence and Tuscany tours that will take you to the places you want to go. The guide leading the group will be full of local knowledge and there are few better ways to explore a new area than with an enthusiastic local person. It’s a great way to see as much of the region as possible in very little time!
