Outotec to deliver flash smelting technology to China
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - OUTOTEC OYJ PRESS RELEASE, SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 AT 12.00 AMOutotec to deliver flash smelting technology to ChinaOutotec has made an agreement with Shanghang County Jinshan TradingCo. Ltd. on the supply of smelter technology and services. The enduser will be Zijin Copper Co. Ltd. The contract value isapproximately 7 million euros.The agreement covers Outotec® Flash Smelting license, the supply ofproprietary process equipment and services for Zijin's copper smelterproject in Shanghang, Fujian Province, China.The greenfield smelter is planned to produce an annual 200 000 tonnesof cathode copper. Outotec's material deliveries are scheduled totake place in the third quarter of 2010.Outotec® Flash Smelting technology is the cleanest smelting methodavailable for copper and nickel.
