Haven Holidays Say Key to Consistent Bookings at Holiday Parks in Norfolk is Great Value for Money

Caister is Britain's oldest holiday park - having celebrated its Centenary in 2006.
Neil Davies, Head of Commercial for Haven said: 'Overall holiday sales at our Great Yarmouth parks have held up well this year despite the squeeze on personal finances. This area is traditionally strong for family holidays with great beaches and local attractions and bookings have been positive during peak school holiday periods with early bookings, most notably for Easter being almost 15% ahead of last year. Latterly we have seen a slight drop of around 5% in the number of families booking over the main summer period but a decline in volume had been foreseen.
'People have been reluctant to spend more than last year on their holiday and we have seen a marginal increase in late sales in anticipation of getting a "late deal" which is not surprising given the current state of the economy. By keeping our prices at a similar level to 2010 and having included more free activities and entertainment on park, guests continue to recognise the great value for money that Haven offers.'
Neil added: 'Some guests are choosing to reduce their length of stay but are not prepared to compromise on quality. We continue to see more families booking a "staycation" in preference to a foreign holiday and more people booking a week instead of a fortnight. But demand for our premium grades of accommodation remains high and our investment in top of the range holiday homes has proved worthwhile.'
Haven have invested heavily in their parks with an overall spend of around GBP 55million which includes the . Caister has a newly refurbished pool and a new restaurant facility which looks very stylish and the company has replaced some of their old-fashioned chalets with a brand new touring area which is proving very popular. The investment in Great Yarmouth itself has also had a positive impact on sales.
Haven say, 'Despite the economic downturn we will continue to invest - with significant plans already under consideration for Caister.'
