BRANDS FASHION, Europe’s market leader in sustainable workwear, establishes a circular system without waste and launches a new basic collection which is certified at Gold level according to the innovative Cradle to Cradle Certified™ product standard.
Cradle to Cradle Certified™ collection(firmenpresse) - Many consumers today demand that textiles should be produced in an environmentally friendly way and be recyclable as far as possible. BRANDS FASHION takes the idea one step further: “The aim is to promote a healthy circular system without waste: All materials should first be reused and then biodegraded at the end of their life,“ explains Mathias Diestelmann, CEO of the northern German textile company.
These criteria apply comprehensively to the new collection. All production steps and materials used are well known and have been especially selected for a healthy circular system. The strict controls and the organic products guarantee consumers an absolutely safe use of the final textiles.

"Our first Cradle to Cradle Certified™ collection features printed T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies and face masks, that can be individually designed," says CEO Mathias Diestelmann. All products are currently available in red, white, navy and black, but can also be produced in other colours on request. Customers have already been found in the sports merchandise sector and environmental organisations.
Fabric, sewing thread or label – every Cradle to Cradle Certified™ garment is made of pure organic cotton. All chemicals in the process are safe and meet the highest eco-toxicological standards for the biological cycle. To reach Gold level, BRANDS FASHION uses renewable energy during production, effective waste water management and promotes social justice in the supply chain.
BRANDS FASHION is proud that the certification process which started last December in India, the country of production, has made it to the ambitious level Gold. "Sustainable ways, certified textiles and continuous development of ethical products are part of BRANDS FASHION's corporate philosophy," states CEO Mathias Diestelmann, and adds, “We are looking forward to expand the C2C-collection in the near future.“
BRANDS FASHION sought advice from renowned EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer. The consulting company is an accredited Cradle to Cradle® assessor and has extensive knowledge of materials, dyes and finishing chemicals for textiles and optimises products with regard to recyclability. “Concerning the production of textiles and other articles there is actually nothing better than C2C: it is perfect for society, health, the economy and the environment," says Prof. Michael Braungart, mastermind of the Circular Economy and inventor of the Cradle to Cradle® principle.
