Media Advisory: Canada Welcomes HMCS Charlottetown Home from Fighting the Gaddafi Regime

(firmenpresse) - HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/01/11 -- Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown will return to Halifax on Friday, September 2, 2011 following its deployment to the Mediterranean Sea, where the ship operated with a multinational formation of surface vessels and submarines under NATO command. HMCS Charlottetown and her 240-member crew are scheduled to arrive at HMC Dockyard at 10 a.m.
Media wishing to cover the arrival are asked to register with the Maritime Forces Atlantic Public Affairs Office at 902-427-3766.

Along with family and friends, The Minister of National Defence, the Honourable Peter MacKay, Associate Minister of Defence, Julian Fantino, The Honourable Peter Penashue, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk and the Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, Vice-Admiral Paul Maddison, will be on hand to welcome the ship's company home.
