Weiterstadt, Germany - September 5, 2011. Security7 Networks counts on
LinOTP by LSE Leading Security Experts to enhance authentication security.
Security7 Networks, based in Hampton (NH)/USA, is a Managed Service
Provider, managing computers and network components within their customers'
facilities. Simple to use smartphone apps connected to LSE LinOTP provide
One Time Passwords (OTP). Other key benefits of the solution include easy
implementation and management.
Security7 Networks was looking for a reliable, flexible, and easy to manage
two factor authentication solution to increase logon security for all
managed devices. The company decided to implement the one time password
solution LSE LinOTP because of the robust and modular design it offers.
Various smartphone applications on a wide variety of platforms are
compatible with LSE LinOTP and can be used by employees and customers alike
as a token. Since the smartphones are already deployed, Security7 decided
to leverage the devices in order to support strong authentication. Using
the LSE LinOTP self-service portal hosted in the Security7 Networks data
center, customers can easily register their existing smartphones for use
with two factor authentication. This has proven to be a very cost effective
solution which both customers and staff like because of the simplicity to
deploy a new token.
Security7 Networks uses the modular and flexible architecture of LSE LinOTP
to meet their strict reliability requirements. They implemented multiple
LinOTP servers supporting each of the modules that comprise the
authentication. Security7 Networks set up load balanced LinOTP servers with
a redundant SQL database backend.
The flexibility of LinOTP's modules also enabled Security7 Networks to set
up scenarios where the first level of authentication can be performed at
the client's site, while securely forwarding token validation requests to
the hosted LinOTP service in Security7 Networks' datacenter. This
configuration enables the customers to retain ultimate control over access
to devices and quickly disable accounts should the need arise.
'LinOTP has proven to be a flexible authentication tool that permit token
deployment on the devices we already use on a daily basis', Raymond F.
Scholl, CISO of Security7, explains their choice and adds: 'The modularity
of the design has clearly provided enough flexibility to fit the most
demanding environments.' But Scholl is not only fond of the product
quality: 'If you are looking to strengthen your security in a reliable and
cost effective way LinOTP is an excellent candidate. The professionals at
LSE will provide great support in architecting and deploying a great
solution.'
