Superfast 4-Port HomePlug AV Switch Networks up to Four HD Devices, Requires No New Wires
(firmenpresse) - ANAHEIM, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/07/11 -- ZyXEL Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, today announced the launch of its PLA4225 four-port, 500Mbps HomePlug AV switch. Equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, the switch is designed to accelerate home networking for HD entertainment using existing electrical wiring.
A true out-of-box networking solution, the PLA4225 can create a secure home network in minutes and allows families to enjoy multiple, lightning-fast HD streams -- ideal for streaming movies, multiplayer gaming and other network applications simultaneously in every room that has a power outlet. The PLA4225 switch is backed by ZyXEL's two-year limited warranty.

The PLA4225 is environmentally friendly, capable of reducing power consumption costs via its built-in power saving technology. Like ZyXEL's PLA4205 500Mbps Powerline adapters released last month, this 4-port switch is based on the latest version of HomePlug AV (Audio Video) standard designed specifically to stream HD media with the steady high-throughput that is necessary for such applications. The devices are backward compatible with earlier HomePlug AV adapters.
As easy as plugging in a light bulb, the PLA4225 switch requires no software for installation. It boasts line filtering to negate the impact from other electrical components operating in the house, and features 128-bit AES encryption for network security.
The PLA4225 will be available in October through all ZyXEL resellers. The MSRP for PLA4225 is $109.99.
