Anevia Announces Updated Multiscreen Over-the-Top Video Solution
(firmenpresse) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/11 -- Anevia, a leader in video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD), announced today the release of ViaMotion 3.0, an updated version of its multiscreen over-the-top (OTT) video server software.
ViaMotion 3.0 is a complete multiscreen OTT video solution which includes a range of carrier-grade software products for telecom carriers, broadcast services providers, and content owners looking to stream to multiple devices including PCs, tablets, mobile phones, set-top boxes, and connected-TVs. In order to secure premium content, ViaMotion 3.0 includes support for digital rights management (DRM) and live video scrambling.
The ViaMotion Origin server supports multiplexing and streaming of both live and on-demand video content over the Internet using adaptive bitrate streaming. Anevia's adaptive bitrate streaming technology adjusts picture quality in real-time to match bandwidth availability and ensure the continual delivery of images.
ViaMotion also features stream adaptation profiles which can support multiple devices from a single source in order to increase the number of streams while lowering infrastructure and operational costs. Additional features include transcapsulation on the fly and storage optimization.
ViaMotion Edge is an HTTP cache server designed to enhance quality of experience (QoE) by distributing high demand and premium content from the origin server to local audiences. ViaMotion Edge Server dynamically prioritizes and optimizes video streams for different applications including live television, CatchUp TV, nPVR and VOD services.
ViaMotion Balancer load balances content onto different cache servers across the network depending on demand. ViaMotion Probe ensures carrier-grade reliability by monitoring the network in order to identify quality issues such as faulty video and loss of streams. ViaManager Monitor software can be used to monitor and manage all the ViaMotion components across the network.
Anevia's OTT video products support multiple formats including H.264, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Adobe Flash HDS, WebM, and now MPEG DASH. As with WebM, Anevia is the first OTT solution to support the new MPEG DASH standard.
