Chris Cook Joins New Relic as President & Chief Operating Officer

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/11 -- New Relic, Inc., the SaaS web provider, announced today that Chris Cook has joined the company as president and chief operating officer. Most recently, Cook was a senior vice president and general manager of CA Technologies' Service Assurance business unit where he was responsible for all business operations worldwide. Chris will report to New Relic founder and CEO Lewis Cirne, and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. As CEO, Cirne will focus on corporate vision and strategy, product roadmap and innovation.
Chris joins New Relic with more than twenty years experience as a general manager and a leader in sales and executive management, with deep expertise in the application performance management (APM) market. He has managed high-growth businesses and specializes in execution and organizational effectiveness. At CA Technologies, Cook was responsible for leading the Service Assurance business unit, their largest and fastest growing distributed business. Previously, Cook was senior vice president of worldwide field operations where he was responsible for leading CA Wily's sales, professional services, support, business development and education organizations. Prior to CA Wily, Cook led sales organizations for Quest Software and BMC Software.
"With its ability to execute, effective sales model, and clear vision, New Relic is the kind of company you don't come across every day. Lew is a veteran who understands the shortfalls of today's APM approaches and a visionary who knows what it takes to be successful in the future," said Cook. "As the only SaaS-based, multi-platform APM technology in the market, New Relic is uniquely positioned to continue on its remarkable growth trajectory. I look forward to helping Lew and his team continue growing the company and building value for our rapidly increasing customer base."
"Chris Cook is a world-class business leader who brings the right combination of industry experience and cultural fit to the New Relic organization," said New Relic founder and CEO Lewis Cirne. "I've never been more excited about this company and the prospects for the future than I am today. Chris coming on board is just the beginning of a series of new developments this year that will continue to propel the company forward as we help shape the future of application performance management and make effective APM available for all the world's business-critical web apps."
