The new video contributionnetwork is based on Net Insight's high-capacity Nimbra 680 switchwith its multi-purpose Video Access module and the Gigabit Ethernetcard. The services will be carried over multiple 10 Gbps opticallinks between the studio and the central site.The Nimbra 680 is a multi-service switch designed to meet therigorous rich media and data service needs of carriers and serviceproviders including high switching capacity, end-to-end provisioningand restoration and 100 percent quality of service guaranteed.Equipped with the 8 x Video Access Module, it offers extensiveflexibility for studio, contribution and distribution networks. Eachof the module's eight ports can be individually configured as ASI Inor ASI Out, as well as standard definition (SD) or high definition(HD) SDI.
